Welcome back yet again, got another simple build for you today. Like super simple. So simple that I need to vamp to eat up space on this page. Introducing:
This gross spider.
Nobody likes spiders. Especially giant spiders. Anyone who says otherwise is lying or a soon to be serial killer. Get away from that person immediately. Yet for some reason dollar stores sell bags of cheap toy bugs and spiders. Not just at halloween but, like, all the time. What's the market? Who's buying these? Well. Me. They make cheap minis that just need a quick paint job.
What you'll need:
- dollar store spider
- basing material
- dollar store paints
- dollar store super glue
- decent primer and sealer (optional)
- tooth picks if making a dire spider (optional)
Clean that toy with soap and water. Seriously. It takes 2 minutes and can save you so much work when painting. You won't regret it. Now, paint it up. I went with a fuzzy brown and a red stripe to make it go faster. Lastly, slap it on a base and you're good to go. I used a large base, that's 2"x2" on a grid. I wanted a real Shelob feel for when my players inevitably fight this monster. You can always try some different paint jobs for things like phase spiders, giant black widows or tarantulas. Good luck googling those pictures though.
