Welcome back and please, if you can come up with a witty title, let me know in a comment. I feel like I'm missing an obvious one here. This build has a few photos/angles, but it's not actually as complicated as it seems. In retrospect I wish I had taken photos during the build process to more clearly show the steps, but I'll have to settle for directions. Maybe moving forward I'll start taking pictures of the entire process. Maybe.

And the movable turret!
Ugly, blocky and rusty. It's perfect. Where to start with this build? There looks like there is quite a bit to break down here but most of it is fluff and extra bits for detail. In reality it's a very simple build. The base of this model is just a box with wheels so if you're unsure of anything just keep that image in mind and your final piece will end up great. As always, your materials may vary but I personally got all of mine from dollar stores. I'm even going to pedantically label them all that way in my list. If you can't find something specific, don't worry. Make it out of something else, anything really. Pretty much any part of this build can be replaced by cardboard if needed. Just use what you have and start crafting. That's the important part.
What you'll need:
- dollar store paints
- primer (optional but recommended for the pill bottle)
- sealer (optional)
- dollar store craft knife
- dollar store hot glue gun and superglue
- any other dollar store tools that are standard at this point
- dollar store Popsicle sticks
- dollar store toothpicks
- dollar store wooden shapes/ hobby kits (small packs of circles, hexagons, etc.)
- piece of card-stock
- an old pill bottle and an old pill bottle lid
- dollar store toothpick container lid (optional for rotating turret)
Like I said, it's simple. Start by making a box from Popsicle sticks and hot glue. Leave one of the small ends open for the main cannon. Depending on your wheel material, you may want to leave the bottom of the box open as well, stick the tires on, and then seal it up. If not, make a box and then stick some wheels on it (the more the better with orks). You don't need to seal up, or even paint, the bottom of the tank because once it's on the game board nobody is ever going to see it. I chose to seal it all, but that's just my preference. Hot glue the pill bottle (cannon) onto the correct side and make sure it's secure. Rearrange these steps as needed.
Once you have your square with wheels, it's time to add the turret. The rotation is completely optional, I just wanted to experiment. Realistically you'll never move the turret anyway. If you want it to move for some reason though, I used the lid of a toothpick container. It already rotates, you just need to stick some toothpick "gun barrels" onto it and find a textured lid to top it all off. If you're more practical (not me) and just want a stationary turret you can use any old pill bottle lid or even the lid from a pop bottle. Whatever you've got on hand.
After that, your tank is essentially complete. The remaining work will be adding armor plates (the dollar store wood shapes), random spikes everywhere (toothpick), and the ork banner or flag (shape on a toothpick). Really, you can decorate it however you'd like. I also added a few bits from spare minis I had in my bits bin. The "rivets" on the armor plates are hot glue. Any welds are hot glue. I believe that's it.
Let me know if anything is unclear, but I believe that's it. Enjoy!
